Our unplanned introduction to this plant occurred in 2021 during the installation supervision and commissioning of an additional magnetic separation unit for quartz sand at another Novosibirsk plant, Sibirskoye Steklo. A year later, after the customer conducted a thorough analysis and selection of technical and commercial proposals, a contract was signed. This contract included the development of project documentation for the line, manufacturing, and comprehensive supply of technological equipment, including an automatic control system for the batch preparation process.
The batch for tin smelting at the Novosibirsk Tin Plant consists, depending on the recipe, of two or three grades of tin concentrates, lime, coke fines, and granulated dust collected by the electric arc furnace's gas cleaning system. An assembly conveyor mounted on load cell sensors is used as the general multi-component dispenser for these materials in the implemented line.
Since the same raw material components for the batch are supplied and stored on the plant's premises in three different types of containers (big bags, self-unloading kibble, and containers unloaded by tipping), each storage bin is equipped with standardized removable frames fitted with various unloading units. This technical solution was developed and implemented by Stromizmeritel LLC specialists for the first time. Otherwise, the tin smelting line, like most similar dosing-mixing sections, includes equipment for mixing and transporting the multi-component mixture, and its layout is largely similar to the layouts of batch preparation lines in the glass industry.
